As the New Year approaches and everyone gets into the holiday spirit, the event calendars in our communities fill up with festivals, parades and special shows. We offer a little bit of everything throughout our communities and here’s just a taste of the events coming up this season.
Nights of a Thousand Candles – Murrells Inlet, SC, December 10-12 & 17-19
Walk Brookgreen Gardens and take in more than 5,500 hand-lit candles and countless sparkling lights this December. A new addition to the festivities is an outdoor glass sculpture in Anne’s Garden created by Conway Glass. While you enjoy the lights, take in the live entertainment at the South State Bank Entertainment Tent.

The Christmas Gift Light Festival – Anderson, SC, open every night in December
After 20 years, the Upstate’s largest festival of lights has out grown its location and is moving to a new 45-acre park. The new park allows for more room to display 3.5 million Christmas lights, a grander Santa Village and 2.5 miles of roadway.

Enchanted Airlie – Wilmington, NC, December 10-13 & 16-22
Be a part of this Wilmington tradition and stroll through the gardens of holiday flowers, taking in more than 750,000 lights and musical entertainment. This year enjoy a visit from Santa Claus and local food and beverage vendors serving hot beverages, cookies and more.

A Very Fashionable Christmas – Georgetown, SC, open until December 30

Jingle Jingle 5k Road Race & Health Walk – Hilton Head Island, SC, December 19
The 24th annual Jingle Jingle race hosted by Hilton Head Hospital will be run on and around the Hilton Head Hospital Campus and Main Street. Not only does the event give you a chance to burn off some holiday calories, but a percentage of proceeds goes to The TEARS Foundation and CODA (Citizens Opposed to Domestic Abuse).

The Polar Express 4-D Experience – Columbia, SC, showing daily through January 3, 2016
This event is great for kids and adults alike. Watch a holiday favorite in a new way with this 4-D experience. Feel the bite of the wind, smell fresh hot chocolate, dance in the snow and more. The run time for the show is only 15 minutes, making this perfect for even the youngest viewers.
