11 BBQ Restaurants to Check Out in Our Communities

BBQeNewsMay is National BBQ Month, and to celebrate we’re spotlighting some of the BBQ restaurants in our communities. Celebrate throughout the month by supporting the unique southern food group that is BBQ, and tip your hats to the pit masters who have spent years perfecting their craft (and make some good sauce too).

So, give your grill a weekend off and pull up a chair to one of the many delicious BBQ joints in one of our South State Bank communities. Here’s a list to get you going:

Schoolhouse BBQ – Scranton, SC

Small town Scranton delivers some big flavors with Schoolhouse BBQ. Housed in a restored 1930s school, the flavors and tradition of the BBQ buffet are as rich as the history. Be sure to save room for the dessert buffet and soft serve ice cream.
