South State’s 5 Favorite Thanksgiving Desserts

Whether you are a turkey enthusiast, a potato traditionalist or someone who requests canned cranberry sauce, everyone has an opinion about the dessert table at Thanksgiving. We asked our South State employees to name their favorite Thanksgiving dessert. To give you an idea of what will be on our tables this year, here are our favorites.

Pumpkin Pie

If anything is synonymous with fall and Thanksgiving, it’s the classic pumpkin pie. Looking to boost the pumpkin flavor even more? Try garnishing your pie with candied pumpkin seeds.

Pecan Pie

A close second to pumpkin pie was pecan pie. Pecan pie can come in all shapes and sizes. If you normally do a standard round pie, try these Pecan Pie Bars for easier cutting and serving.

Sweet Potato Pie

Whoever said vegetables are best as a side dish clearly never had traditional sweet potato pie. The perfect blend of sweet and spice, sweet potatoes make for one yummy pie. If you have leftovers from dinner, try these scrumptious sweet potato pancakes.

Apple Pie

Simple and classic, the less you fuss with an apple pie, the better. To really make a showstopper of a pie, learn how to make a lattice top here.

The beauty of cheesecake, other than having a creamy and decadent dessert, is that you can make a variety of flavors. Some of our favorites include pumpkin, strawberry and sweet potato. If you like to end your meal with chocolate, try this chocolate-espresso cheesecake.

From the traditional to the modern, (pomegranate-poached pears with cream, anyone?), try giving your dessert table a new feature with one of our top picks.

From all of us at South State, we wish you the happiest of Thanksgivings!
