About Amy R. Henderson, J.D.
Amy Ray Henderson earned a B.A. from Auburn University in 1998. She received her law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2001 and was admitted to both the Alabama and Georgia Bars the same year. Following law school, Amy served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joel F. Dubina, United States of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
After her clerkship, Amy joined the private practice of law focusing on the legal representation of families and family offices with an emphasis on the areas of tax efficient wealth transfer planning and preservation, family partnerships, non-profits and the representation of fiduciaries. After almost fifteen years of private practice, she joined South State Wealth as a Private Wealth Advisor to focus her expertise identifying client needs, interpreting governing documents, and managing wealth relationships.
Amy is actively involved in the community as a member of the Savannah Estate Planning Council, a 2014 graduate of Leadership Savannah and a Sustaining Member of the Junior League of Savannah. She has most recently served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire, Inc. and on the Board of Directors for the Savannah Community Foundation.
Amy lives with her two sons in Savannah. Their family loves to travel but enjoys returning to their coastal community where they stay active boating, fishing, crabbing and participating in sports.
