From the Links and Beyond – Visiting Augusta, GA

When you think of Augusta, GA, what’s the first thing that pops into your mind? Odds are, it’s probably golf. Each year, Augusta is home to the first major PGA event of the year, The Masters. The tournament is played at historic Augusta National Golf Club and brings an estimated 40,000 spectators to the area each year.

The appeal of Augusta doesn’t stop at the 18thgreen. When Augustans aren’t taking in the sporting events, you might be able to find them enjoying the natural beauty on the popular Augusta Riverwalk or from the water on a tour of the Augusta Canal. The Savannah River also offers a variety of water sports like tubing and kayaking for when the Georgia summer arrives.

When you’ve had your fill of outdoor activities, head downtown to experience a variety of local restaurants, an afternoon of antiquing, a bustling nightlife and much more.
