CHARLOTTE, N.C. – (June 28, 2018) – South State Bank today announced its commitment to supporting Charlotte Hospice patients and their families with a $25,000 donation to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region (HPCCR).
“I have seen firsthand the difference that HPCCR makes in the lives of Charlotte residents who are at the end of life or managing advanced illness,” said Bryan Kennedy, division president, N.C. and Virginia. “It is our honor to provide support to those patients and their families by contributing to this extraordinary organization.”
“We are deeply grateful for the generous support from South State Bank,” said HPCCR’s President and CEO, Pete Brunnick. “The opening of The Center for Palliative Care Advancement (CPCA), and our first free-standing outpatient palliative care clinic in South Charlotte, is a significant move in Charlotte’s healthcare landscape and reinforces our mission of ensuring that quality medical care is available to all who need it.”
Currently, HPCCR has more than 700 patients in the Southern Piedmont under palliative care. CPCA took its first patient at the clinic on June 14. A ribbon cutting for the opening of the building at 7600 Little Avenue is scheduled for July 24 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. A room at CPCA will be named in South State’s honor in commemoration of the company’s donation.
