(MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – Aug. 20, 2018) South State Bank announced that J. Benjamin Black has joined the company’s Mortgage team, bringing with him more than 30 years of banking experience.
Black most recently worked for Bank of America, where he held the positions of branch manager, business banker, private banker and mortgage loan officer. He earned status as one of the top five percent of lenders in the country, leveraging his expertise in professional and physician loans, lot and construction loans, vacation homes, jumbo lending and self-employed borrowers.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Citadel. He is also a graduate of Leadership Charleston and is active in the I-Beam lunchtime literacy program with the Charleston County School District.
Black is based in Mt. Pleasant at the branch located at 632 Long Point Road.
