Last summer, Atlantic Capital Bancshares, Inc. agreed to merge with SouthState Corporation to form a $45 billion financial institution with a presence in six southeastern states and a diverse national business reach. Our merger was completed on March 1, 2022.

Like Atlantic Capital, SouthState has a relationship-based approach – focusing on local decision making and building strong partnerships with customers and stakeholders. This merger will enhance both companies as our aspirations and cultures are aligned. Combined, we will have one of the best commercial banking teams based in Atlanta offering enhanced service capabilities and larger credit capacity to support you and your businesses. We also will continue to dynamically grow our payments and Fintech banking business.

As we bring our two companies together, you will still work with the same bankers and local teams you have come to know and trust. I will become President of the Atlanta Banking Group and Head of Corporate Banking for the combined company. Kurt Shreiner will be President of the Corporate Services Division and will continue to focus on the growth of our FinTech, Payments and Franchise Finance businesses. Rich Oglesby will remain in his current role as the Atlanta Division President.
