Tips for Staying Hydrated

We are in the hottest stretch of summer, and proper hydration is important for staying healthy and not letting triple degree temps get you down. We all know we need to drink water but what are some tips for making sure your body is getting enough H2O? We have your answers here.

Give Yourself Goals

You should aim to drink half of your body weight of water a day. So if you weigh 150 pounds, then you should drink 75 ounces of water each day. Using a large cup with measurements can give perspective on how much you’re drinking. Try marking goal lines on your cup to notate how much you want to drink by lunchtime or the end of the day.

Don’t Go Anywhere Without a Water Bottle

If you have water with you, you’ll be less likely to pick up a soft drink and more likely to consistently drink water throughout the day. Plus, refills are free.

Don’t Stop at Water

Snacking on fresh fruits and vegetables can help keep you hydrated, but drinks like coconut water and skim milk can help add vitamins and other nutrients to your system.

Don’t Wait Until You’re Thirsty

By drinking water consistently throughout the day, you’ll keep your water levels consistent and help prevent dehydration.

Keep Track With an App

If you’re dedicated to drinking more water, keep yourself accountable by tracking all water consumption with an app like Daily Water Free or Carbodroid.

Staying hydrated helps keep your body healthy, your skin clear and your mind clear.
