Commercial Banking Intern Program
College undergraduates interested in the Commercial Banking field are invited to apply for SouthState’s Commercial Banking Intern Program. This 9-10 week summer intensive offers a deep dive into the world of banking through interactive job shadowing, instructor-led training and collaborative projects. Travel opportunities include meeting executives and SouthState's CEO.
Interns get a glimpse into specific departments including operations, credit, treasury management and commercial lending. Mentors from SouthState work with each participant to determine if a career in banking fits their career goals.

Commercial Banking Associate Program
Those who complete an internship may apply for SouthState’s Commercial Banking Associate Program, a 6-month journey of leadership development and individualized mentorship. Associates receive on-the-job training in areas including credit analysis, commercial underwriting and commercial lending. While continuing to interact with fellow associates, participants also have access to the bank's key leaders and stakeholders. Associates are eligible for full-time employment upon completion of the program.

- Rising junior or senior
- Financial accounting knowledge
- Professional communication skills
- Independent thinking
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
