Personal

  • Checks – Please continue using your existing GB&T or SB&T checks as you do today.
    • If you need to order new checks after the transition, you may do so in the following ways:
      • Online – Log in to Online Banking. Select an account, and click Order Checks at the top of the page.
      • Customer Care – Call us at (800) 277-2175, and we’ll be happy to assist you with ordering new checks.
      • Phone Banking – Call (800) 763-0555, and follow the prompts to order checks.
      • In Branch – Visit your local South State branch to order new checks.
      • Business customers, who will have access to our business online services, can order checks by calling us at (866) 722-8972.
    • The routing number on your checks will change to 053200983.
  • Statements – Due to the system conversion, your last GB&T or SB&T statement will include account activity through Friday, February 17, 2017. This will be delivered as a paper statement. You will receive your first South State statement per your regular statement schedule. The first statement will include activity beginning with February 18, 2017.
    • If you currently receive combined statements, where more than one account is listed on your statement, please call us beginning February 21 to set up this service for you again.
  • Direct Deposit/Electronic Drafts – Your electronic drafts/direct deposits will continue as they do today. We will notify businesses, where you have electronic payments or direct deposits set up, of your new routing number. After February 21, we encourage you to confirm with these businesses that the routing number is updated to ensure there is no interruption with your payments or deposits.
  • Debit Cards – Please continue to use your current GB&T or SB&T Debit Card as you do today. New South State Visa® Debit Cards will be issued mid-March through April 2017. Your new debit card will have a new card number and will include EMV Chip Technology. Additional information, including instructions on how to activate your card and set a PIN, will be included with your card.
    • If you are an Apple PayTM user, you may continue to use Apple PayTM with no interruption. After receiving your new South State Visa® Debit Card, you will need to update your account with your new card number. Click here for instructions on updating Apple PayTM.3
    • With your South State Visa® Debit Card, you will have the option to use additional Payment Solutions like Android PayTM4Samsung Pay5 and Visa® Checkout6.
  • Online Banking – On Monday, February 20, you can access your accounts online through South State Online Banking.
  • Credit Cards – Please continue to use your current GB&T or SB&T Credit Card as you do today. New South State Credit Cards will be issued at the end of March.
    • Although your card will change from MasterCard to Visa®, your card features will remain the same.

Business

You will receive a separate letter this month detailing how to access your accounts beginning Monday, February 20. If you will access your accounts through Business Link/Plus, you may also be contacted by a South State Treasury Officer.

 

  • Mobile Banking – Mobile Banking is available to South State Online Banking customers. You will need to access Online banking first in order to enroll in Mobile Banking and download the Mobile App.1

    • In order to receive Mobile Text Alerts, you will need to set up your alert preferences within South State Online Banking. Learn more here.
    • Available to South State Business Link or Business Link Plus customers, Business Link Mobile App is an easy and secure way to access your accounts, deposit checks, pay bills and transfer money between your South State accounts. In addition, you can receive alerts when ACH, Wires, BillPay or Positive Pay approvals are pending. Learn more about Business Link Mobile App here.

Online Banking

On Monday, February 20, you can access your accounts online on our homepage by entering your Access ID in the Online Banking Login box.

  • When logging in to South State Online Banking for the first time, please use your current GB&T or SB&T Access ID (case-sensitive, no spaces) and the last four digits of your Social Security Number or your Tax Identification Number as your password. If your Access ID is less than six (6) characters, you will be prompted to change it. Your access ID must be at least six (6) characters.

Mobile Banking

  • Mobile Banking1 is available to South State Online Banking customers. You will need to access Online Banking from a computer first in order to enroll in Mobile Banking and download the Mobile App.

  • Please call us with any questions at (800) 277-2175. Our normal Customer Care hours are Monday through Friday 8am – 7pm and Saturday 8am – 3pm.
    • To help you through this transition, we will be extending our Customer Care hours over the weekend:
      • Friday, February 17: 8am to 7pm
      • Saturday, February 18: 8am to 6pm
      • Sunday, February 19: 1pm to 6pm
      • Monday, February 20 – Friday, February 24 – 8am to 9pm
