What is Popmoney?

Popmoney is a person to person online payment service.  It allows you to quickly send or receive money from virtually anyone you know.  An email address or mobile phone number is all you need to get started.

Is the Popmoney service secure?

Yes. Popmoney uses the same security standards as Online Banking and BillPay to protect your information. We monitor all payments, and proactively identify potentially fraudulent payments and/or suspicious activity.

Is there a fee to use Popmoney?
There is no fee to send, receive, request money, or cancel a payment but a fee will apply if you stop a payment. There is also no reoccurring monthly fee. Please see a banker for further details.
 
What information do I need to know about the person I wish to send money to?

Popmoney allows you to send money to virtually anyone in the US, using only their first and last name and e-mail address or mobile number. We will only use the e-mail address or mobile number to notify a recipient of the payment and how to claim the money. The money is sent directly from your account to their bank account.

How can I change my personal information after I sign up for Popmoney?

Sign in to BillPay and click the “Popmoney” link. Next, click on the “Preferences” tab. Select the information you need to update and enter the appropriate changes.

Please note: Any changes you make in the Service Setup of Popmoney will be reflected on your entire BillPay account.  If you change your email address or preferred account, it will change on your BillPay account.

Can I set up recurring payments?

Yes, you can under the “Send Money” tab. Simply click the link “Set up a Recurring Payment” when you initiate a new payment. From there you can select how often.

Can I cancel a Popmoney payment?

Yes, you can cancel a Popmoney payment before it starts processing through Online Banking and our Mobile App.

Through Online Banking:
Go to the “Activity” under the Popmoney section of your Bill Pay. Find the payment you would like to cancel and click the “Cancel Payment” button. If the money has already began to send to the receiver’s account, you will not see the “Cancel Payment” button. 
If the payment has begun to send to the receiver’s account, you will see a “Stop Payment” button. You may select option to stop the payment. Fees may apply. See a banker for further details.
Through Mobile App:
Go to the “Payments” tab on your Mobile App, select “View Payments to People”. Find the payment you would like to cancel and click the “Cancel Payment” button. If the money has already began to send to the receiver’s account, you will not see the “Cancel Payment” button. 
If the payment has begun to send to the receiver’s account, you will see a “Stop Payment” button. You may select option to stop the payment. Fees may apply. See a banker for further details.
Can I pay a person by check?

Yes, you can pay a person by check within Popmoney®. After adding a person as a payee, complete the information under, “How would you like us to send the money” for mailing a check. Within the payment center, create a payment and select “check” as your payment method.

How do I set up automatic deposits for Popmoney® through the Mobile App?

To set up automatic deposits for Popmoney, you will need to:
1. Tap the “Payments” tabs.
2. Select “Popmoney”.
3.Then select “To Do”.
4. Slect the payment you have received from your contact.
5. This will give you the option to toggle the Enable Automatic Deposits button within the receipt.

How do I add contacts to Popmoney® in the Mobile App?

To add contact to Popmoney® in the Mobile App, you will need to:
1. Select “Payments”, then “Popmoney”.
2. Select “Send Money”.
3. Tap “To”, then enter phone number or email address for new contact.
4. Tap “Add new contact”.
5. Complete the needed fields, then tap “Save Contact”.
