Richard J. Linden
Richard is a Senior Portfolio Manager with South State Advisory, where he is focused on developing investment strategy and constructing investment portfolios to meet client objectives within South State's comprehensive Private Wealth offering.
He began his career in 2000 and brings a diverse background of nearly 20 years of financial advisory and wealth management experience. Prior to joining South State Bank in 2020, Richard was a Regional Manager and Senior Portfolio Manager for a large, regional bank trust company, serving clients in South Carolina and throughout the southeast. In addition, he has held the positions of Senior Portfolio Analyst for a multi-billion dollar asset management firm, as well as Private Client Financial Advisor for a leading national brokerage firm.
Richard earned his B.A. from Harvard University in 2000 with honors, where he concentrated in Economics and was a two-sport varsity athlete (football and baseball). In the community, he has served as a former President of the Harvard Club of South Carolina, a student mentor at The Citadel, a volunteer high school football coach, and an Advisory Council Member for Historic Columbia.
Richard and his wife, Erin, reside in Columbia, SC with their three young children. While away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, taking on home improvement projects, and reading a few pages on his front porch.
