Sara Johnson is a Senior Vice President and Wealth Relationship Manager serving Richmond, Virginia and surrounding areas. She takes pride in developing meaningful, lasting relationships with her clients and coordinating advice amongst a client's advisors to provide holistic guidance and direction.
In 2000, while studying to become a dental hygienist, she decided to join First Union Bank for part-time work. She ended up falling in love with banking and has been in the industry ever since. A graduate of Averett University, Sara received her Bachelors in Business Administration and is a Certified Trust & Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA®).
Before coming to SouthState in 2020, she spent the last 14 years of her career at a regional bank. Her roles included Retirement Plans & Mutual Funds specialist, Financial Advisor, and Wealth Advisor.
Sara has spent considerable time serving with ChamberRVA’s programs, United Way, and as a board member for Junior Achievement. She was nominated for the 2020 class of Richmond's Finest which represents the area's most accomplished and innovative young professional leaders who commit to raising funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, moving closer to a cure.
Sara lives in Glen Allen, Virginia with Jason, her high school sweetheart and husband, and their two children. Her son attends Virginia Military Institute where she is a proud, supportive football mom, and her daughter attends The Steward School and competes at a high level on the basketball court. She enjoys watching her children athletically compete, cooking, and serving as a leader in her local church.
