Chris Ward

Chris Ward is a Senior Vice President Mortgage Banker based in Greenville, South Carolina. A native of Greenville, Chris earned his Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Clemson University and brings more than 20 years of banking experience to his clients. His background spans private and commercial banking, giving him a holistic understanding of financial needs across all stages of like and business. Chris works closely with business owners, physicians, and other professionals providing tailored lending solutions for both primary and secondary residences. He specializes in purchase and construction/ renovation financing, as well as jumbo, conventional, and portfolio loan programs. Chris also has deep expertise in physician lending, serving residents, fellows, and established medical, dental, and veterinary professionals. SouthState’s lending footprint includes all 50 states, with select portfolio loan programs available in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Beyond his work, Chris has been an active member of Grace Church Downtown for over 20 years and supports numerous local organizations, including Young Life, Miracle Hill, Search Ministries, 3Gen Ministries, JL Mann Booster Club, and Front Porch Housing. When he’s not assisting clients, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Dorsey, and their four children. His family loves boating and surfing on the lakes in the Upstate. He can often be found coaching or cheering at his kids’ sporting events and music performances.
