Maria is the best! She helped us close on a home while we lived out of state. She guided us through every step. I would highly recommend.

Maria was a pleasure to work with. As a first time homebuyer, there was so much I had to learn, and she was incredibly patient with me and answered all of my questions and even gave me some much needed advice with regards to the homebuying process. She is immensely knowledgeable, and has genuine care for her clients; she really treats you like family. I would recommend Maria to anyone who is looking for a great loan agent to work with!

I applied for a home loan with SouthState bank working with Becky Mason. My husband is a long haul truck driver who gets paid by the mile. (Variable income) For some reason after a few weeks Becky retired and still didn’t have an approval letter for me. When Becky left; my home loan was passed to Maria Smith. Maria was very nice and professional. But I didn’t get an approval letter from her either. They kept asking for more information. In fact I didn’t hear from her again. I don’t think they know how to work with variable income that would include the underwriter. What is going on with this bank?! My feeling is if I couldn’t get a pre-approval letter Maria Smith at the very least should have called me and let me know. I think that was rude.I wasted a month working with them. I am now working with a bigger well known bank and the loan officer has already approved us for a loan and is going much smoother.
