SouthState Grows Tampa Team, Welcomes Four New Hires

TAMPA – May 7, 2026 – SouthState (NYSE: SSB) continues strategic hiring in the second quarter of 2026 with the addition of 4 veteran producers across its metro Tampa market. These accomplished professionals reflect SouthState’s commitment to investing in talent who build strong client relationships and support sustainable growth.

The producers joining SouthState’s Tampa market include:

Phil Russo – commercial relationship manager, Tampa – is an experienced commercial banker who specializes in healthcare and real estate lending. Prior to joining SouthState, Russo worked as director of healthcare banking.

Chip Westbrook – middle market relationship manager, Tampa – joins SouthState after 12 years at Truist. Previous roles include underwriter and portfolio manager and debt capital markets associate.

Carmen Inclan – mortgage banker, Tampa – joins SouthState from U.S. Bank. She has more than three decades of home loan experience in the West and Central regions of Florida.

Eric Rambo – financial consultant, Tampa – comes to SouthState Investment Services after a successful 21-year tenure with a local regional bank. He specializes in financial planning, portfolio management and financial analysis.
