Ann S. Gluse J.D., CTFA®, AEP®
Ann Gluse earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of South Carolina. She also received her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar. She holds her Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor designation and her Accredited Estate Planner® designation.
Ann began her career in the financial services industry in 1990 with a large national bank where she worked until the completion of law school. After receiving her J.D., Ann practiced law focusing her practice on estate and wealth planning. She joined SouthState in 2005 and is the Director of Fiduciary Services for SouthState Private Wealth. Ann is responsible for the overall delivery of Private Wealth products and solutions. She ensures that the group adheres to policies and procedures including compliance and risk management activities. Ann guides and monitors the Wealth Advisors on complex, non-routine issues related to client inquiries or requests as well as provides specialized expertise, technical advice and counsel on complex fiduciary issues.
Ann is a past chair of the Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law Section of the South Carolina Bar and has served in the House of Delegates. She co-chaired the South Carolina Bar Probate Code Revision Committee Article 3, Part 8 review and also served on the South Carolina Bar Committee studying the proposed Uniform Trust Code. Ann served as President of the Columbia Estate Planning Council and is a past chair of the SC Bankers Association Trust Committee.
Ann is active in community affairs. She has chaired the Heathwood Hall Episcopal School annual auction as well as the 70th Trinity Cathedral Bazaar. She has served on the Executive Board of the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties and the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of South Carolina - Mountains to Midlands Region. Ann is a 2003 graduate of Leadership Columbia and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Columbia. She is a 2016 Palmetto Center for Women honoree.
Ann and her family live in Columbia, South Carolina. They are active members of their church, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
