About Brian A. Barker, CFP®, AIF®
Brian is the Chief Investment Officer for South State Wealth. He leads the team of portfolio managers delivering customized investment advice to South State's Wealth clients. Prior to joining South State Bank in 2009, Brian was a regional portfolio manager for a large east coast bank serving Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Brian graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in Economics. He received his MBA from the University of South Carolina. Brian is a Certified Financial Planner® and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. Brian is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association, the Greenville Estate Planning Council and the Spartanburg Estate Planning Council. He is a member of the Piedmont Economics Club, the Investment Institute and a past president for the South Carolina Financial Planning Association chapter. Brian is a board member of SC Economics, the Innovate Fund, and the board chair of the City of Greenville's Firemen's Pension Fund.Brian lives in Greenville with his wife, Heather, and their son Royce. He enjoys reading and being outdoors.
