George A. Meyls IV, CFP®

George is a Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor for South State Private Wealth, based in Richmond. He advises clients on all aspects of financial and estate planning. He also administers trusts and estates. He earned a B.A. in Economics & Urban Planning from Roanoke College in 1987, and became a Certified Financial Planner® in 2001 and a Licensed Financial Analyst in 2004. George joined South State in 2014.

George has more than 29 years of experience in financial and estate planning, trust administration and portfolio management. In addition, he has considerable expertise in both commercial and personal lending. Through his career he has held leading roles including Wealth Management Director of Virginia for a large commercial bank and Director of Private Banking.

George has been a member of the Richmond Estate Planning Council since 2005.He has been a head basketball coach for the Midlothian Athletic Association for more than 13 years.

George and his wife, Linda, have three children and live in Midlothian, VA.
