Greg Dunaway, CWS®

Greg Dunaway, Certified Wealth Strategist®, brings 25 years of banking experience to SouthState’s Private Client Division. His career began in Consumer Banking and Small Business before expanding into Commercial Banking, where he held various Relationship Management roles and completed formal credit training focused on Commercial Real Estate.

Greg earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Auburn University and is a graduate of Alabama Banking School and the Cannon Certified Wealth Strategist® Program. Throughout his career, he has found particular fulfillment in advancing financial literacy through Junior Achievement, delivering live financial education segments on Birmingham’s ABC 33/40, and helping establish de novo banking offices in growing and underserved markets.

An active member of the community, Greg has been involved with Leadership Vestavia Hills, the Vestavia Men’s Gardening Club, and his local church. He and his wife, Monica, an Associate Architect with Williams Blackstock, reside in the Birmingham area and have a daughter preparing to begin college.

Outside of work, Greg enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, and pursuing his lifelong passion for collecting rare vintage and early modern sports cards
