Jon Ahrens, AIF®, QPFC

Jon has been in the Financial Services industry for nearly 20 years. He has been with SouthState Retirement Plan Services since 2006, and has served as Vice President, Fiduciary Services Manager, and Asset Manager & Retirement Plan Advisor since 2012. In addition, he currently serves as Chairman of the SouthState Retirement Plan Services Investment Committee providing research, analysis, reporting and guidance to other consultants within SouthState. He works directly with Plan Sponsors to provide client relationship management and fiduciary services as well as with their employees focusing on investment advice based on their unique circumstances. He previously served as Agent/Registered Representative with New York Life Insurance Company before switching his focus from life insurance to qualified retirement plans. He received a B.M. degree from the University of South Carolina in 1987 and a M.E. degree from The Citadel in 1991. In addition, Jon received his Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC) designation in 2008 through the American Retirement Association and his Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation in 2010 through the Center for Fiduciary Studies, LLC (a Fiduciary360 (fi360) company). Jon currently lives in Summerville, SC and enjoys spending time with his wife, two children and their Boykin Spaniel.
