Karen Giel

Karen has been with SouthState Bank since 1990 and has enjoyed various roles throughout her banking career. Her current role as Private Banker is the completion of a full circle for Karen as she now assists long-term clients prepare twilight decisions of their business and retirement years. She is located at the Ashton branch in St. Cloud, Florida and is the Private Banker for Osceola County. Karen supports and serves on the board for St. Cloud Main Street and Florida Farm Bureau Federation as well as being a long-time volunteer with the local fair and livestock show, the Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show and Fair. She has also served for more than 25 years on the Housing Finance Authority for Osceola County. Karen attended the University of Central Florida where she obtained a degree in Finance. Karen considers herself a Florida native, having lived here for over fifty years, when her family decided to make Florida home after her father’s decorated military career. She spent five years at two other regional banks before joining the bank in its Florida infancy. Osceola County has been her family’s home since 1992; she resides in St. Cloud with her husband, and her daughter and son-in-law reside nearby. She enjoys spending time with family and watching college football!
