About Michael Williams

Michael leads the SouthState Private Wealth team based in Richmond. He is responsible for promoting SouthState Private Wealth in Richmond and for ensuring a high-quality, proactive service experience for Richmond-based clientele. He joined SouthState Bank in 2014. Michael earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia. Following college, he was employed by First Virginia Bank in Retail Banking. After receiving his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, Michael worked for Anderson Consulting (Accenture) before entering the Trust and Wealth Management Industry where he has held numerous positions. Michael is a current member of the VBA Trust and Wealth Management Committee, the Richmond Estate Planning Council, and the Trust Administrators Council. He is also a Board Member of Virginia Public Media (VPM), Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation (VMFAF), Venture Richmond, and The Community Foundation Investment Committee. Michael is a Member of Leadership Metro Richmond and previously awarded Inside Business Top 40 Under 40. He lives In Glen Allen and enjoys cycling, golfing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
