6 Upgrades Available Now in Your Mobile Banking App

Our phones are constantly in our hands as we check the weather, the score or shipping notifications from last night’s purchase. Are you taking full advantage of all the ways your SouthState mobile app can help you manage your finances?

We’re highlighting the latest updates made to online and mobile banking in case you missed a feature or have questions about benefits.

Debit Card Controls

We listened to customers who asked for enhancements to their debit card. With card controls, the power is in your hands.
 
  • Travel Notifications – send a message in the app letting us know when and where your card will be used
  • Turn Your Debit Card On/Off – card controls allow you to switch a card off or on with just a few clicks; this can be a temporary measure to restrict usage or more permanent if the card is lost or stolen
Remember that, though you switched your card off, previously approved recurring payments will process as scheduled.
 
  • Report Debit Card Lost/Stolen – card controls allow you to report a lost card and turn your card off; to complete the reporting process, you must call Customer Care and order a new card
  • Reset Your PIN – if you ever want to reset your PIN code, find this feature under Manage Card


Security and Account Alerts

A brief text message or email may be all you need to stay on top of your finances. With our new security and account alerts, customize the information you want to receive and how you’ll be notified.

Alerts you may find useful include:
 
  • Low Balance Alert – choose an amount and receive a text or email if your balance falls under that number; this option is available for checking and savings
  • Direct Deposit Alert – receive a notification when a direct deposit from your employer hits your account
  • Check Cleared Alert – receive a notification when a check clears; you can choose a specific check number to watch or be notified for all checks
  • Transaction Limit Alert – choose an amount and receive a text or email when a transaction exceeding that amount occurs
  • Security alerts including forgot password attempts, profile updates and password changes

BillPay Updates

We aim to make paying bills a little easier by enhancing the user experience in BillPay. You can now see more details about your payments and add notes for budgeting. For those who use both the desktop and mobile app versions of BillPay, the updates will make the versions identical.

Updates include:
 
  • Ability to view payment processing status, such as when funds will leave your account
  • Ability to ask question about your payment
  • Ability to add a memo to the payment in the mobile app

Additional Enhancements

Tax Documents

Tax documents are now available in Online and Mobile Banking to make tax season a bit easier. Documents can be found under Account Services, then Statements and Documents.

Tax documents will be available by January 1 for the previous tax year.

Address Changes

You can now change your address in Online Banking on accounts on which you are an owner or a signer.
